Dr. Mary Doyle is a consultant in Paediatric Neurodisability. She is passionate about helping children, young people, and their families understand their needs. Her goal is to provide the support necessary for them to thrive, be happy, and achieve their personal best.
As a Paediatrician, Dr. Doyle completed her specialist Neurodisability training at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). She worked in their Neurodisability clinics and Neurology department, completing her speciality and sub-speciality qualifications. After a year at GOSH in a consultant role, she applied for a position at the Evelina Children’s Hospital, Newcomen/Neurosciences Department, which is a tertiary service. Currently, Dr. Doyle works in the Newcomen Neurodevelopmental second opinion service. Here, the team provides diagnoses and recommendations in neurodevelopment, learning, complex medical needs, and mental health.
In addition, Dr. Mary Doyle serves as the Clinical Lead for the Spinal Cord Clinic. She cares for children with Spina Bifida and spinal cord disorders, addressing their neurological and developmental needs. She also works in the TANDeM (Tics and Neuro-developmental Movements) service. In the Movement Assessment Clinic, she sees children and young people with cerebral palsy, post-stroke issues, developmental coordination disorder, and various genetic conditions.
Dr. Doyle prescribes medications when appropriate. This includes treatments for ADHD, sleep difficulties, epilepsy, cerebral palsy/increased tone, Tourette syndrome, and mental health issues. A significant part of her role involves writing recommendations for schools and EHCPs (Education and Health Care Plans). This helps families support their children in reaching their full potential.
As a parent herself, Dr. Mary Doyle understands the worries that parents face. She strives to achieve the best outcomes for her clients and always considers their needs when working with families.
