The term jet lag refers to a temporary sleep disorder. You suffer from it when your body’s biological clock does not match the local time zone. Jet lag gets worse as you pass through more time zones. You lose time when traveling east, which makes it more challenging to adjust.
Jet lag can cause you to feel sleepy several hours before bedtime. Symptoms include trouble falling asleep, being tired during the day, being confused and out of sorts, and generally feeling unwell.
Preventing jet lag can be accomplished by adjusting to the destination’s new time zone before you leave.
