Mr Deepak Komath
Maxillofacial Consultant Surgeon
Mr Komath’s Background and Training
Following his graduation from the University of Southampton, Mr Komath trained in oral and maxillofacial surgery on the London Deanery rotation. Subsequently, he joined the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust as Consultant in Maxillofacial Surgery in 2016. A year later, he became Clinical Lead for Facial Deformity Surgery.
Specialist Interests
Mr Komath works with both adults and children. His specialist interests include facial surgery, face lifts, and eyelid rejuvenation. Additionally, he focuses on facial deformity correction, head and neck reconstruction following cancer or trauma, and skin cancer surgery. Furthermore, his expertise covers oral surgery, TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders, tooth extraction, dental implants, and salivary duct disorders.
Collaborative Approach to Care
As a member of the Royal Free Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team, Mr Komath views collaboration as essential to effective treatment. For example, in his private practice, he often arranges joint appointments with other specialists for patients with complex conditions. This approach allows him to initiate a complete package of treatment in a single visit.
Professional Credentials
Mr Komath holds Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, among other leading professional organisations. Beyond his clinical work, he is a published author in his specialism. Moreover, he lectures and examines at University College London, where he enjoys mentoring students.
